5 Awesome Riding Days on June 25 - 29, 2007

Magna riders (and their friends) are welcome to join us for an awesome 5 day ride through the Sierras in eastern California. The ride will summit 5 of the Sierra Mountains' most beautiful (and curvy) passes; Carson, Ebbetts, Monitor, Sonora & Tioga. In addition we will tour the scenic roads of Yosemite National Park. We will be riding 4 to 6 hours per day with stops for fuel and scenery. On some days there will be multiple routes available to accomodate as many riding styles as possible. We will plan optional evening activities for those interested. There is no fee for this tour*.

Always Ride Your Own Ride At Your Own Pace
The general experience level of the ride will be for Intermediate riders and will be Cruising with some scenery stops. There will be some routes available for expert riders that are optional. Most routes will be two lane roads that include sweeps and intermediate twisties. You are welcome to join us for any days or portions of the tour that interest you.

California's Central Sierra Mountains and Gold Country: We will be based out of Sonora CA, with a day or two in South Lake Tahoe area. With stops in places like; Glacier Point, Yosemite Valley, Columbia State Park (ol' west city), Calaveras Big Trees, Virgina City, big Reno Honda Dealer, etc.

The Weather
| Figure daytime temps from 70 to 85 degrees in June. Evenings can get pretty cool. Light thunder showers are possible all summer long. We recommend something warmer in addition to mesh apparel.

Day 1 - June 25 - Southern Passes Loop
Leave Sonora east on the 108, group breakfast in Pinecrest (maybe), over Sonora Pass to 395, south to Lee Vining for lunch, west over Tioga Pass through Yosemite and back to Sonora

Day 2 - June 26 - Touring Yosemite
Sonora south on the twisty Little Dragon (Hwy 49) through Mariposa to Oakhurst then up the 41 to Yosemite's south entrance, tour Yosemite including Glacier Point and the Valley, then up to the northern gate and west on the 120 back to Sonora.

Day 3 - June 27 - Transition to Blue Water
A "shortcut" from Sonora to Hwy 4 East, a stop at Big Trees and then over the stunning Ebbetts Pass, then south over Monitor Pass on Hwy 89 to Topaz - then either 395 up to Tahoe or 89 to 88 to Tahoe. We'll take a vote.

Day 4 - June 28 - Blue Tahoe Loop
Up the West side of the lake, some cool back roads, visits to Viginia City &or Reno Honda Dealer, then back on 431 and down the East side of Tahoe.

Day 5 - June 29 - Golden Hills
Leaving Tahoe we'll cross our final summit on the 88 into Gold country, a quick side trip west on the 26 will take us to an early lunch at Mel's. Then south on the 49 and a few side routes back to Sonora. We should be in Sonora early enough so those that want to head home can get their before dark (even LA). Or you can stay in Sonora, breakfast with the gang and then head for home.

The Ride Communications
| Our Ridemaster, Dobie, will be using a standard 40 Channel CB radio for communications during riding. You are welcome to bring your own system and join in on the conversation. (As long as you don't yak to much). We request you use PTT with your CB.

The Rules or "What You Need To Participate In This Ride"
|
- Rider must have a valid driver’s license, with valid motorcycle endorsement.
- Motorcycle must have a current vaild registration and have a valid motorcycle license plate in place. Proof of registration will be required.
- You must be insured. All riders must carry insurance/proof of insurance as required by the laws of the state in which their motorcycle is registered. Riders must present proof of insurance and liability limits.
- DOT Approved Helmet use is required for rider & passengers. All appropriate safety gear is required.
- Signed acknowledgements of waivers, risk releases and indemnification, as required by the Ridemaster.
- Motorcycle must comply with all applicable Federal and State requirements.
- No rider or passenger should do anything that makes them uncomfortable or is illegal.

We do not charge a "tour fee". Your costs are only your expenses.
